Head Lice Prevention is all part of your head lice treatment process. During treatments and after treatments a lot of care must be taken to ensure that your child is not re-infested with head lice again.

Re-Infection is as quick as the blink of an eye. Do not be fooled into thinking that  you are rid of these little pests or you will not get them back again because you will.

I know It is so frustrating. Unfortunately for as long as your child is at school your child will be exposed to this pest. How ever this is where you can make a difference and be vigilant with your Maintenance & Prevention Program.

  • Purchase a new hair brush, hair ties or hair accessories your child may need to secure long hair.
  • Always apply a lice repellent each day your child/ren is at school or around other children
  • Each morning brush through the hair and to the scalp from the front and through to the nape of the neck.
  • Bend the head forward and flip hair to the front. Brush from the nape of the neck all the way through to the front of the head including the sides of the head.
  • Use a Nit Comb, comb through the same as you would with a brush. Using the Nit comb in this way will detect any live lice immediately.
  • During bath or shower-time while hair is wet, apply hair conditioner and comb through with a nit comb. A must at every bath or shower-time, this is all part of your head lice treatment process.
  • Braid or secure hair whilst at school or whilst around other children.
  • Discourage your child/ren from wearing hats/head gear that do not belong to them.
  • Discourage your child/ren from head to head contact with others.
  • Discourage your child/ren from allowing others to wear hats/head gear that they own.
  • Re-Infection Is Your Problem, But Not Your Fault!
